Progress your career in the construction industry and learn the skills of a shopfitter who can construct or renovate com- mercial premises such as retail or office environments. This qualification includes the skills and knowledge required to work safely using tools and equipment and to apply informa- tion from plans and drawings to fabricate, assemble and fix shop fronts and install internal units and partitions.

Camden College has an excellent simulation area with all the tools and equipment you need for this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic computer skills
  • English Proficiency level for the training course reading, writing and comprehension skills
  • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 52 weeks. Students will attend face-to-face 2 x days per week 9am- 5pm. This includes training and assessment.

RPL CANDIDATE

Candidates must provide evidence of currency and experience by working in the carpentry field of construction for a minimum of 12 months within the past 18 months. A letter on company letter- head from current/past employer(s) verifying this is required.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Candidates must provide evidence of currency and experience by working in the shopfitting field of construction for a minimum of 3 years and pass a competency interview with a qualified asses- sor.
